One of the things I’ve learned running Help With My Tech is that most visits are not just about technology. Yes, tech is usually the reason someone calls, but once I’m there, it often turns into helping with whatever is causing frustration that day. A recent visit with a customer in Apache Junction was a perfect example of that. We’ll call her Sarah (that’s not her real name, just keeping things private).
Sarah originally reached out because she needed help on her computer. She was trying to create an online account related to some tax paperwork. I want to be clear about this part. I’m not an accountant and I don’t give tax advice. What I can do is help people understand websites, forms, logins, and how to safely create and manage online accounts. For Sarah, that meant walking through the site step by step, explaining what each screen was asking for, and making sure her account was set up correctly and securely.
Once that was finished, we still had some time left. Instead of wrapping things up early, Sarah asked if I could help with a few other things around the house. This happens more often than you might think.
First, we took care of her Christmas tree. The holidays had come and gone, and the tree and ornaments were still sitting there waiting to be dealt with. I helped take everything down, carefully pack the ornaments, and move it all out to her shed. Nothing fancy. Just one of those tasks that feels bigger than it really is until someone helps you knock it out.
Next, she mentioned her car tires were a little low on air. She already had the equipment. I don’t bring tools like that with me, but I was happy to help. A few minutes later, the tires were filled, and that was one less thing on her list.
The last task was a bit bigger. Sarah had an older recliner in her living room that she no longer needed because she had purchased a new one. I’ll be honest. I don’t claim to be the strongest person in the world. If something feels unsafe or beyond what I’m comfortable doing, I will say no. In this case, it was manageable. I was able to move the recliner out and take it to Goodwill so it could be donated instead of sitting around unused.
Visits like this show what Help With My Tech is really about. I am very comfortable helping with:
- iPhone and iPad help
- Mac computer setup and troubleshooting
- Online accounts, email, and basic website navigation
- Printers, Wi-Fi, and everyday tech frustrations
And when time allows, I’m also happy to help with simple, reasonable household tasks that make life easier. Think of it as practical help from someone who explains things clearly and is willing to pitch in.
I serve customers in Apache Junction and all over the Valley. You can see the full list of locations on our areas we serve page.
If you need help with tech, or you just need an extra set of hands from someone you trust, that’s exactly what I aim to provide.
